For each shipment, the melt analysis of that shipment applies. In case of any discrepancy, the official PDF table prevails. To choose a grade, use the alloy finder.

How to read the table

  • Japanese ADC series (e.g. ADC12): die-casting alloys to the JIS standard — read about ADC12.
  • British LM series (e.g. LM6 and LM24): casting alloys to the British standard.
  • American grades (356, A356, A380, A413): the .0 suffix denotes castings, .1 and .2 denote ingot — read about A356.
  • AS grades (e.g. AS7G03 and AS9U3): French designations based on the content of the main elements.

For the role of each element, see the effect of alloying elements on aluminium. Ask the sales team for today's price of any grade.

Frequently asked questions

What is an aluminium ingot analysis?

A chemical analysis gives the weight percentage of each element in an ingot (such as silicon, iron, copper, magnesium and zinc) and shows which standard grade the ingot matches.

What do the single values in the table mean?

Values given as a range are the permitted range for that element; single values are the maximum permitted. A dash means no specific limit is defined.

What is the difference between 356.0, 356.1 and 356.2?

In the American designation system, the .0 suffix gives the composition of castings, while .1 and .2 give the composition of ingot for remelting; .2 usually has tighter limits on iron and impurities.
